Why We Started Grillvano
It started with a burnt hand, a ruined Sunday, and a wire bristle that almost ended up in my daughter's burger.
I'd been grilling for years — every weekend, every holiday, every excuse I could find. It was my thing. But the cleanup? It was always a battle. Wire brushes that shed bristles onto the grates, hours of scrubbing, and a constant nagging worry: is this actually safe?
The moment everything changed was a summer cookout in 2021. I'd just finished grilling and was scrubbing the grates when I noticed bristles stuck all over the food surface. I'd already served a few plates. My stomach dropped.
I threw everything out. I apologized to my guests. And I spent the rest of that evening searching for something — anything — better.
There was nothing. Not really. Everything either didn't clean well, wasn't safe, or fell apart after two uses. I kept thinking: why is this still a problem in 2021?
So I built the solution myself. I spent months testing materials, designs, and cleaning methods until I had something I'd actually trust on my own grill — something I'd hand to my neighbor, my parents, my kids' school BBQ committee without a second thought.
